Nicole's Arc

In the works

One of Nicole's dreams as a child was to have a sanctuary for children with two of every animal. At the present time, Nicole has two cats and two dogs. Nala is will begin obedience courses and after six months, she will start her journey towards becoming a certified therapy dog. Due to Nala being a Golden Retriever and her breed being the top two dog breeds for therapy dogs, she will be the primary pet used in pet therapy. After Nicole receives her license, Registered Play Therapist (RPT) certification and Nala reaches appropriate age and development stage, Nicole and Nala plan to attend an Animal Assisted Play Therapy (AAPT) Level 1 and Level 2 Workshops held by Risë VanFleet, Ph.D., RPT-S, CDBC (President of International Institute for AAPT and internationally known psychologist and Certified Dog Behavior Consultant. The long term goal is for her to go into schools, nursing homes, hospitals, group homes, courthouses, and assisted living homes. If you are the owner or manager of the above, please feel free to reach out to arrange a free visitation from Nala for your facility. Nicole is in the process of getting Nicole's Arc certified as a 501(c)(3) and runs this nonprofit organization on donations. If you'd like to donate, please contact Nicole or use Venmo @carritacounseling PayPal @carritacounsel CashApp $carritacounseling Donations will be used towards Nala's extensive training and are greatly appreciated.

In the meantime, Nala can be met as a comfort dog in situations of need. Please contact Nicole if you'd like to utilize Nala in sessions.

Mission

Nicole's Arc's Philanthropy is to assist individuals from a vast array of issues including those who are recovering from traumatic events, depression, anxiety, victims of domestic violence/sexual assault/sex trafficking, child abuse, those experiencing loneliness, and much more. The plan is to provide marginalized populations the opportunity to receive socialization with a therapy canine without the price tag.

Vision

Nala, the canine therapy pet, has the innate ability to put a smile on anyone's face and she receives a lot of intrinsic satisfaction socializing, especially with children. Nicole has observed her ability to promote positive mental health outcomes and would like to provide communities and individuals the opportunity to meet such a great healer.

Pumbaa, the feline therapy pet, is a very social and outgoing young man. He loves to be pet and socialize with others. Nicole would like to provide the opportunity to individuals who are more interested in cats the opportunity to receive treatment with a cat if that is the client's individual preference.
